Bub’s Burgers Expands to Mandeville with Northshore Debut
Bub’s NOLA, the beloved New Orleans smash burger spot known for its retro vibes and crave-worthy patties, is taking its bold flavors across the lake. With a fresh coat of its signature paint now up, Bub’s has officially announced its newest location in Mandeville, Louisiana, bringing its signature sizzle to the Northshore for the first time.
Set to open later this summer at 3847 LA-22, the Mandeville location will follow the formula that made Bub’s a local legend—smash burgers, good tunes, arcade games, and a whole lot of nostalgia. According to co-founder Tristan Moreau, the restaurant will mirror the Mid-City Banks Street location in size and layout, featuring indoor seating, retro décor, and a laid-back vibe perfect for burger lovers of all ages.
Unlike the more compact Uptown spot on Freret Street that caters mostly to takeout, Mandeville’s Bub’s will offer a fuller dine-in experience. Specials from the original Banks Street kitchen will also rotate through the new location, giving customers on both sides of the lake access to Bub’s latest creations.
Bub’s Burgers began as a pandemic-era pop-up—a passion project by a group of friends navigating uncertain times. The name “Bub’s” is a tribute to their late friend Rand Owens, who often used “bub” to describe a solid, stand-up person. That spirit of friendship and community has been baked into every burger they serve.
As the founders fan out into new cities—from Austin to Mandeville—so does the dream of bringing Bub’s to more neighborhoods. “It would be a realistic goal to have Bub’s wherever we have bubs,” Moreau shared, emphasizing the brand’s roots in friendship and local connection.
While the team focuses on launching the Mandeville location, plans are also underway to revive the original Bub’s mobile pop-up, aiming for a return by 2026. This would allow the crew to reconnect with their festival-going roots and bring the burger party back to the streets.
Looking further ahead, the future may hold new locations in Baton Rouge, downtown Covington, Hammond, Lake Charles—or maybe even a Colorado debut in Denver. For Bub’s, growth isn’t just about business—it’s about community. If there’s a friend ready to flip burgers and a good space at the right price, Bub’s is ready to roll.
So whether you’re a longtime fan or new to the Bub’s craze, get ready—Mandeville’s about to get a whole lot tastier.
