The most popular specialty block is Split-Face Block which provides a more decorative appearance compared to the bland, flat-faced concrete block commonly used.  This more attractive natural, rough, rock or stone texture is produced by molding two units together and then splitting them apart during the curing process.  There is no uniformity to the resulting texture which further leads to demand for this block for exposed wall finishes, especially in commercial applications on restaurants, office buildings, universities, and medical facilities.
