Popular Brick Colors for 2023
Brick colors are a personal choice but there are some colors out there that might surprise you that have been popular choices in 2023. According to the Brick Industry Association (BIA) the most popular colors this year are whites, grays, traditional red bricks, and reds with black. The texture and size are also different this year which include thin brick floors, defined hard edges and mortar joints, and there are no tumbled and soft edges.
“Rising texture trends include brick screen walls, brick insets and exclusions, brick-within-brick elements, blending diverse patterns and textures, and modern design with refurbished, rustic exteriors,” says BIA.
The commercial trends are a bit different. These include smooth grays and blacks. The textures are wire-cuts, smooth face tumbled and multiple blended textures. Also screen wall brick in architectural applications.
Both residential and commercial are built with the refurbished, rustic, old warehouse design in mind. Tumbled brick and old world brick are being used to create a historic surface. They also are creating a textured look with bricks by insetting/corbelling brick with a wall. This trend can be counted due to the labor shortages and supply chain disruptions.
