Garth Brooks to Open For the Sugar Bowl Kickoff
Garth Brooks is making his way to New Orleans’ Caesars Superdome for the Sugar Bowl Kickoff. The event is held every year on Labor Day weekend to celebrate the start of the college football season. Others who will be there are Louisiana native Lainey Wilson and veteran Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.
This is a big deal for NOLA, during the summer of 2015, he sold 65,000 tickets to the concert at Smoothie King Center and in April of 2022 he performed for 120,000 in Baton Rouge’s Tiger Stadium. This concert will be around 77,000 that can come to the concert. This is a capacity of more than the Sugar Bowl Game!
“There’s things that define a career. For min, it’s been playing Central Park, Yankee Stadium, Olympic Stadium in Munich- just these big places. Now the Superdome completes that for me,” says Brooks.
New Orleans should feel honored as this is the only place, besides Vegas, where Garth Brooks will be performing live this year. Wilson is one of the hottest tickets currently in county music and if you’re a local, then you grew up listening to Nitty Gritty.
“You’re going to see all three of these artists for under $100, and every ticket is (priced) the same. I love that. That says it’s gonna be a party,” declares Garth.
